Back to mechanical

Remember my last post about peripherals 6 months ago using the Logitech keys and mouse?

Well, I am still using the mouse - somehow, but not just this particular one, the MX Master 4.

I recently switched my mouse back to the cable-bound G502 Hero. It's just so much more precise and lighter than the bulky MX Master 4. It's a good mouse but I still see issues with resolution, precision and speed. I am not a gamer, but even with normal desktop work I appreciate a fast response overall.

Regarding the keys I also just not got this close to the MX Keys S. I usually liked the very low-profile keys like on a Macbook, but also the precision and speed was not satisfying in the end. And I also really do not need the number block at all. It just consumes too much space on my desk.

I used Keychron keyboards before and after my switch to Logitech, I abandoned the K1 Pro to my studio where my drums are. I liked the layout with the separated functions keys which act as media buttons primarily.

I recently took it back home and replaced it with my old Satechi Slim X3 keyboard there to use the Keychron at my workspace again - and I really got used to it. Again.

Since the K1 Pro in DE-ISO is not available anymore, I looked for a new one for my second workspace. I finally ended up with a V3 Ultra 8K which is not low-profile at all. This time also with red instead of brown switches. This thing is a tank and I need to get used to the keys, but I really like the sound of the red switches - there isn't any at all!

I now use the K1 Pro with my 2nd workspace (I just wish this was white to better match this workspace's theme) and the new V3 Ultra as my daily driver.

People on the other end of a Teams call will appreciate the silence of my keys again.

Overall I also like typing on my Macbook's keyboard from time to time, but nothing compares to keys that are tactile and strong enough and scream: "press me!"
