Today marks my 25th anniversary working in the IT industry and esp. with a product which once was called Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino. My first contact was Notes 4.5.x which came with the Designer part integrated, not as a separate app. It was fast. Holy cow, how fast it was!

I made my first certificates using the brand new version R5 (“Super Human Software”) and one year later in November 2001 I was certified as a “Lotus Certified Instructor” down in Neu-Isenburg at one of the Lotus headquarters in Germany. My exam topic: Domino Designer Fundamentals, chapter “ACL”.

This software paid my living, enabled me to learn even more stuff around IT and to meet great people. Though I recently shifted a bit to other territories, I am still bound to it.

Anyway, hopefully there won’t be another 25 years since I plan to retire much earlier
